Helpful Resources When Getting Into K-pop

03/22/2018

There are a lot of websites that are available that can be used when getting into K-pop, but not all of them are useful. So in an effort to help you avoid wandering the internet aimlessly for hours finding website after website, here is a list that I have compiled that can help you on your journey into the land of K-pop.

Color Coded Lyrics - Color Coded Lyrics is a website where K-pop lyrics are uploaded, and are translated into English, and are also converted into romanization The lyrics are also color-coded, meaning that the lyrics have different colors depending on who is singing that certain part.

K-pop Profiles - K-pop Profiles is a website that has lists of a lot of K-pop groups. In each of these lists, they have the member's real names, stage names, birthdays and all sorts of fun facts about that member. At the beginning of each list, they also have a short bio about the group.

Wikipedia - Wikipedia is useful when getting into K-pop because they have more extensive backgrounds on the group, such as debut date, who owns them, when they began training,  when the group was announced and how the group came to be. It can be used when you just want a more in-depth backstory on the group.

YouTube - YouTube is useful when getting into K-pop because there are a lot of videos on different groups, or idols. YouTube has everything from helpful introductions to groups, to funny moment complilations or try not to laughs.

Amino - Amino is an amazing app that is available on the App Store and the Google Play Store. Amino is a social app that is compiled of a lot of different groups, or aminos, that are focused on one fandom or person. For example, there are aminos dedicated to BTS or the ARMY, and GOT7, and EXO. It's a great app when you want to find people that like the same groups as you and Amino makes it super easy because they have public chatrooms! (Not sponsored, although I wish I was.)

So there are some helpful websites that you can use when you are getting into K-pop! You can still use these websites if you are an experienced K-pop fan as well! Of course, there are thousands of more websites out there that can be useful, but its all a matter of preference really. These are just the websites that everybody can use, and are basically the gold standard of K-pop websites.
